HAPPIEST OF DAYS
A place I can easily say is my favourite on earth. One of my favourite and most calming things to ever do is to walk from South Chesterman up towards Frank Island, trying to stay on the compressed wet sand yet avoiding those sea shells and seaweed under my feet. Then moving towards the water I press onward towards the most northern part of the beach where the @wickinnbc lies amidst the rocks and trees- waiting with those red Adirondack chairs. My favourite coffee shop brewing tea, served behind a live edge bar. The simplest memory but just the best. The rain may come, and so does the wind at times, but nothing beats those sunsets when the clouds part and you get a view so breathtaking not even your camera can capture its true beauty. So it lives on in your memory as one of the most epic evenings on the west coast.
I know this painting has sold, and maybe I should have spent more time with it before I released it to others. But something about it makes it the most memorable for me. Maybe it’s the colours that hit just right, or that based on what I recall this place to be it really does reflect Chesterman’s true essence. If you happen to be the collector of one of my HAPPIEST OF DAYS— I hope you love it as much as I do.
