It’s difficult to capture the vast aerial view of something that sprawls beyond the mountains your sketchbook can manage.. and seeing an aerial view like the one of Tofino is difficult to put into words. So I paint. The coastal glow — the mountains folding behind one another as the sea spray carries itself between the low laying canopy of the forest. From the little islets dotting the inlet to the twin beaches converging and reaching towards a rocky point where the open Pacific carries on— all making up one of the most iconic views I’ve seen of our west coast here on Vancouver Island.
